The Horse and Barge public house sits charmingly between the villages of Harefield and Denham. It is surrounded by scenic countryside and The Grand Union Canal streams at the bottom of our half acre beer garden with children’s adventure playground.

It’s a pub for all seasons, with open log fires to keep you warm in the winter and for spring/summer, the half acre beer garden with decking areas overlooking the canal and our very own narrow boat mooring!

Our brand new menu consists of homemade British classics and a variety of lunchtime bites, hearty mains and Moorish desserts. We pride ourselves on using great quality meats and produce and creating tasty homemade dishes.

Our large selection of lagers, real ales, bottled beer, wines and soft drinks means we have something to suit all tastes. We work with Heineken and Caledonian Brewery to ensure our products are of a high standard and promote trusted and great quality drinks.

The Horse and Barge is proud to be alongside The Grand Union Canal and welcomes all the canal and boating community, anglers and dog walkers and of course their dogs!



Under brand new ownership and management, the Horse and Barge is undergoing a new and exciting era with great food and friendly service in a family orientated environment. Our on- going improvement programme means you will see continuous improvements and various new additions to the pub.
